Words by the Water are weekly sessions where young people (14-24) come and perform/practice their art in a peer-supported environment. Words by the Water also incorporates guest presenters and speakers from the oratory arts world (such as spoken word artists, rappers, poets, mcs, beatboxers, etc) who would come on specially organized nights to help inspire the up and coming talent pool of regular project participants.



REP YOUR SET POETRY SLAM & OPEN MIC  poetry poster slam

CALLING ALL NEW YOUTH POETS who want to test their skills on stage

As a key part of the program the first Tuesday of the month is dedicated to our poetry slam and open mic night. This is an opportunity for participants in the program to showcase what they have been working on in and outside of the program as well as compete with other youth poets across the city. The top poet wins a cash prize and a feature on our social media sites.

Sign up is at 6:30pm
Open Mic at 7:00pm
SLAM starts at 7:15pm

LAMP Community Health Center – Community Room (3rd Floor)
